Temporary Speed Limits on North Lantau Highway

        In exercise of the powers vested in me under section 40(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Ordinance, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 10.00 p.m. on every Monday, Wednesday and Friday to 6.00 a.m. of the following day during the period from 24 March to 31 May 2025, the following road sections of North Lantau Highway will be temporarily subject to the speed limits as described below:

1. 1. The section of North Lantau Highway westbound from a point about 1800 metres west of its junction with Penny's Bay Highway northbound to a point about 4700 metres west of the same junction will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour; and
   2. the section of North Lantau Highway westbound from a point about 1300 metres west of its junction with Penny's Bay Highway northbound to a point about 1800 metres west of the same junction will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 80 kilometres per hour.

Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists.

At the same time, the existing speed limit of 110 kilometres per hour on the above road section will be temporarily rescinded.
