Tsing Sha Highway

Tsing Sha Highway is a 13-km dual three lane highway connecting Sha Tin, West Kowloon and Tsing Yi.  Tsing Sha Highway together with the existing Lantau Link and North Lantau Highway form the Route 8.

Stage One of Tsing Sha Highway (the section between Cheung Sha Wan and Sha Tin) has been opened to traffic since March 2008.  Stage Two (the section between Tsing Yi and Cheung Sha Wan) has been opened since 20 December 2009.

The western end of Tsing Sha Highway connects to Tsing Ma Bridge and Ting Kau Bridge while its eastern end connects to West Kowloon Highway and Sha Tin.  This new highway provides an alternative route to the section of Route 3 between Tsing Yi and Kwai Chung.

Stage Two of Tsing Sha Highway also provides connections to Container Terminal no. 8 on Stonecutters Island and Container Terminal no. 9 in Tsing Yi.
