ROAD TRAFFIC ORDINANCE (Chapter 374)
Temporary Speed Limit on Fanling Highway, North District


          In exercise of the powers vested in me under section 40(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Ordinance, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that from 1.00 a.m. to 5.30 a.m. daily on 19, 21 March, 8 and 23 April 2025, the following road sections will be temporarily subject to the speed limits as specified below:

  1. the section of Fanling Highway southbound from a point about 445 metres west of its junction with Tai Tau Leng roundabout (exit 9) to a point about 41 metres east of the same junction will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 80 kilometres per hour;
  2. the section of the slip road leading from Fanling Highway southbound to Tai Tau Leng roundabout (exit 9) from its junction with Fanling Highway southbound to a point about 44 metres east of the same junction will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 80 kilometres per hour;
  3. the section of Fanling Highway southbound from a point about 41 metres east of its junction with Tai Tau Leng roundabout (exit 9) to a point about 868 metres east of the same junction will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour;
  4. the section of the slip road leading from Tai Tau Leng roundabout to Fanling Highway southbound from a point about 140 metres west of its junction with Fanling Highway southbound to a point about 80 metres west of the same junction will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour; and
  5. the section of the slip road leading from Fanling Highway southbound to Kai Leng roundabout (exit 8) from its junction with Fanling Highway southbound to a point about 95 metres east of the same junction will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour.

          Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists.

          At the same time, the existing speed limit of 100 kilometres per hour on the above road sections will be temporarily rescinded.
