Special Traffic and Transport Arrangements for the 2025 Sha Tin Lunar New Year Fair
Notice is hereby given that in order to facilitate the holding of the 2025 Sha Tin Lunar New Year Fair, the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented on 27 and 28 January 2025:
A. Traffic Diversions
The following temporary traffic arrangements will be implemented daily from 5.00 pm to 1.00 am of the following day, on 27 and 28 January 2025 (except for police vehicles, emergency vehicles and vehicles permitted by police on site):
- The section of Fung Shun Street between Wo Che Street and Tak Hau Street will be converted from two-way traffic to one-way northbound traffic. Affected vehicles will be diverted via Tak Hau Street (eastbound), Yuen Wo Road (southbound) and Wo Che Street (westbound); and
- All vehicles will be prohibited from heading straight from Tak Hau Street onto Sha Tin Sports Ground Car Park.
The taxi stand on Tak Hau Street near Wo Che Plaza will be suspended daily from 5.00 pm to 1.00 am of the following day, on 27 and 28 January 2025.
C. Suspension of Bus and Green Minibus ("GMB") Stops
The following bus and/or GMB stops will be suspended daily from 5.00 pm to 1.00 am of the following day on 27 and 28 January 2025:
- The bus stop on Wo Che Street near Luk Chuen House; and
- The bus and GMB stop on Fung Shun Street near Fung Wo Estate Wo Yue House.
- The bus and GMB stop on Yuen Wo Road (northbound) near Lek Yuen Estate.
The following public transport arrangements will be implemented daily from 5.00 pm to 1.00 am of the following day on 27 and 28 January 2025:
- KMB Route No. 48X (Tsuen Wan (Bayview Garden) bound) and 81 (Jordan (West Kowloon Station) bound) will be diverted via Tak Hau Street and Yuen Wo Road (southbound) before resuming to their original routeings; and
- The bus stop of KMB Route No. 89 (Lek Yuen bound) and Route No. 269D (Lek Yuen bound) on Wo Che Street will be temporarily relocated from Luk Chuen House, Lek Yuen Estate, to Sau Chuen House, Lek Yuen Estate.
Appropriate traffic aids and signs will be provided to guide motorists. Public transport operators will also display notices to advise passengers of the above temporary arrangements. Actual implementation of and adjustments to road closures, traffic control and public transport diversions will be made by the Police at the time depending on conditions in the areas. Members of the public who intend to go to the affected areas are advised to use public transport services as far as possible, plan their journey early and allow more travelling time to cater for unexpected delays. Members of the public are advised to avoid driving to the affected areas. Motorists should exercise tolerance and patience in cases of traffic congestion, observe the instructions given by the Police, and watch out for the latest traffic news through media.
