Closure of  Tung Chung Town Centre Bus Terminus and its nearby Coach Terminus

and Opening of Tung Chung Temporary Bus Terminus

Notice is hereby given that to facilitate the development of the lot currently used as the Tung Chung Town Centre Bus Terminus (hearafter called “the Bus Terminus”) and its nearby coach terminus ((hearafter called “the Coach Terminus”), the following traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented as follows:

(A) Closure of the Bus Terminus and Coach Terminus and opening of Tung Chung Temporary Bus Terminus

(i)   The Bus Terminus and Coach Terminus will be closed at 1.30 am  on 20 April 2015.

(ii) The  Tung Chung Temporary Bus Terminus on Tat Tung Road will be opened with effect from 2.00 a.m. on 20 April 2015.

(B) Franchised bus operation

(i) The ingress and egress of the Tung Chung Station Bus Terminus will be changed from Tat Tung Road to Mei Tung Street with effect from 10.00 a.m. on 20 April 2015.

(ii) At the same time, New Lantao Bus Route 38 on Yat Tung bound journey will be diverted to left-turn to Tat Tung Road when leaving Tung Chung Station Bus Terminus.

(C) Bus stop and related arrangements 

(i) Franchised bus services

(a)    From the first departure on 20 April 2015, the terminal stops of New Lantao Bus Routes 11, 11A, 23, 34, 36, 3M, and  the en-route stops of New Lantao Bus Routes 1R, A35, N35 will be relocated to the Tung Chung Temporary Bus Terminus.

(b)   From 10.00 am on 20 April 2015, the en-route stop of New Lantao Bus Route 38 on Tat Tung Road near Citygate will be cancelled.

(ii) Non-franchised bus services

(a)      From the first departure on 20 April 2015, the terminal stop and en-route stopping point of Residents’ Service DB01R and DB02R respectively will be relocated to the Tung Chung Temporary Bus Terminus.

(b)     At the same time, a new en-route stopping point of Residents’ Service DB01R on Tung Chung bound journey will be provided at the loading and unloading area near Exit D of Tung Chung Station.

(c)      Alternative transport facilities for coaches are provided below:

l  the lay-by on Tat Tung Road near Tung Chung Temporary Bus Terminus;

l  four metered coach parking spaces and one bus parking space at Tung Chung New Development Ferry Pier;

l  two metered coach parking spaces on Tat Tung Road near Citygate; and

l  thirteen non-metered coach parking spaces on Yu Tung Road eastbound near Chung Mun Road (between 7.00 a.m. and 9.00 p.m. daily).

(D) Traffic arrangement

(i)       The traffic flow on Mei Tung Street to Tat Tung Road will be changed to both left-turn and right-turn, in lieu of left-turn only to Tat Tung Road, with effect from 10.00 a.m. on 20 April 2015.

Appropriate traffic aids will be erected on site. The public transport operators will put up notices to advise passengers of the above arrangements.
