Transport arrangement during typhoon

     The Transport Department announces that as typhoon signal No 8 is likely to be issued in coming hours, the Transport Department advises members of the public to take note of the public announcements on bus service arrangements as the level of bus services may vary according to demand, road situation and weather condition.

     Ferry companies may maintain a limited service or to suspend the ferry service before or shortly after typhoon signal No 8 is issued. Ferry passengers are requested to listen to the radio for updated information.

     A spokesman for Transport Department said: "It is an offence to charge taxi fares exceeding the scale of taxi fares stipulates in the Regulation. The Department reminds taxi drivers that excessive fares during typhoons are not allowed."

     Members of the public are advised to pay attention to TV/Radio announcements on latest traffic conditions.
