Temporary traffic and transport arrangements in Ngong Ping

 The Transport Department today (June 21) reminded people that to facilitate the "Dazzle of Buddha", the following traffic and transport arrangements would be implemented in Ngong Ping on Saturday (June 23):

A.   Road Closure
     From noon to midnight, Ngong Ping Road and a section of Sham Wat Road between Keung Shan Road and Ngong Ping Road will be temporarily closed to vehicular traffic (except franchised buses, taxis and vehicles with supporting document issued by the organising committee of the event).

B.   Temporary Suspension of Metered Parking Spaces
     All metered parking spaces at Ngong Ping Public Transport Interchange/Car and Coach Parks will be temporarily suspended from 8am to midnight.

C.   Temporary Public Transport Service Arrangements
(I)  Ferry Services
     Additional ferry services from Tai O to Tuen Mun via Tung Chung New Development Ferry Pier will be operated at 9.15pm and 10.20pm.
(II) Bus Services
  i. Special services of New Lantao Bus (NLB) route Nos 2, 21, 23 and 37 will be operated from 8.40pm.
 ii. From 2pm to midnight, the bus stops at Ngong Ping Road before Lin Ping Drive, Ngong Ping Road near Di Tan of Po Lin, and Ngong Ping Road opposite Lin Ping Drive will be temporarily suspended. Affected NLB routes include Nos 2, 21, 21S, 23 and 23S.

     Notices will be displayed by public transport operators to advise passengers of the temporary arrangements. Passengers should take notice of passenger information at bus stops and should watch out the latest traffic news via media.

     Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists.  In cases of traffic congestion, motorists are requested to exercise tolerance and patience, and follow instructions of the Police.
