Pedestrian Schemes for Mong Kok

There are substantial commercial, retails and other economic activities in Mong Kok. In order to improve the environment and safety for pedestrians, Transport Department has already implemented pedestrian schemes in the more crowded parts of Mong Kok. These include:

(1) Part-time Pedestrian Street

The part-time pedestrian street at Tung Choi Street (between Argyle Street and Dundas Street) has been implemented on General Holidays from 12 noon to 12 midnight since August 2000. Since mid-September 2004, the above pedestrian street has been implemented during the period between 4:00 p.m. and 12 midnight from Monday to Saturdays.

(2) Traffic Calming Street

The following traffic calming streets have been implemented:
