Pedestrian Schemes for Jordan
There are substantial commercial, retail and other economic activities in Jordan. Insufficient road space to accommodate both vehicular traffic and pedestrians also contributes to traffic accidents. In order to improve the environment and safety for pedestrians, Transport Department has already implemented pedestrian schemes in the more crowded parts of Jordan. These include:
(1) Full-time Pedestrian Street
The following full-time pedestrian street has been implemented since November 2003.

(2) Part-time Pedestrian Street
The following part-time pedestrian street has been implemented during the period between 2:00p.m. and 12 midnight daily since July 2002:

The following part-time pedestrian street has been implemented on trial basis during the period between 12:00 noon and 9:00p.m. daily since October 2011. With the support of the Yau Tsim Mong District Council, the scheme has become permanent since June 2012:

3) Traffic Calming Street
