Notes :
1.	The highlighted section of access road to / from the Shenzhen Bay Port is a Closed Road. Except taxis, only vehicles with a valid Closed Road Permit are allowed to enter the Closed Road. Vehicles without Closed Road Permits have to return to Tuen Mun / Yuen Long via Ha Tsuen Interchange.
2.	Motorists travelling along the Shenzhen Bay Bridge should comply with the Road Traffic Ordinance of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
3.	Roads leading to Shenzhen Bay Port will be closed about 30 minutes before the Port ceases operation. Motorists should ensure that there is adequate time to arrive at Shenzhen Bay Port.
4.	Motorists and visitors should also pay attention to the operating hours of the Shenzhen Bay Port to ensure that there is adequate time to complete the arival / departure procedures.

4)	Taxi Services
	Both urban taxis and New Territories ("N.T.") taxis can provide services at the Public Transport Interchange in the Hong Kong Port Area of the Shenzhen Bay Port. The two types of taxis have different operating areas and charge fares at different rates. Fare tables are displayed inside the vehicles.

General Advice to Motorists

	Always follow the instruction of the Police.
	Comply with the lane use signals when they are turned on.
	Observe the imposed speed limit, which varies according to prevailing weather and traffic conditions.
	Pay attention to messages, if any, shown on variable message signs.
	Listen to the radio for the latest traffic conditions.
	Drive with particular care when the flashing amber lights are on.
	Do not drive on the hard-shoulder or stop on it, unless for emergencies.
	Do not stop or park your vehicles on the carriageway unless for vehicle breakdown or emergencies.
	You may wish to take note of the insurance arrangements for driving to the Hong Kong Port Area of the Shenzhen Bay Port. For detailed information, please visit the website of the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance.

Traffic Management Measures Under Inclement Weather Conditions

The following special traffic arrangements will be implemented on the Shenzhen Bay Bridge during inclement weather to ensure motorists' safety:

Stage 1
Flashing amber lights and variable message signs on the Shenzhen Bay Bridge and approach roads will be activated to alert motorists on strong wind conditions.

Stage 2
When weather conditions get worse, the vehicle speed limit will be reduced to 50kph.

Stage 3
The middle traffic lanes in both directions will be closed and the vehicle speed will maintain at 50kph. Goods vehicles should drive on the left-hand-most lane and other vehicles on the right-hand-most lane.

Stage 4
The Shenzhen Bay Bridge will be closed. Northbound vehicles will be diverted away at Ha Tsuen Interchange.

Application for Closed Road Permits for Cross-boundary Vehicles

General Application Procedures

	You are required to get an Approval Notice from the Public Security Bureau of Guangdong Province, complete other formalities in the Mainland, and get a Closed Road Permit from our Department before driving across the boundary.

	For details on the application for the Closed Road Permit, please call our department's hotline at 2804 2600. You may also contact the Public Security Bureau of Guangdong Province at (86) 20 83111536 for the application of Approval Notice.

Arrangements for Cross-boundary Private Cars Using the Shenzhen Bay Port

	Cross-boundary private cars issued with valid Closed Road Permits for the other three crossings may choose to use the Shenzhen Bay Port, until 30 September 2012. For details, please refer to the press release.
	Eligible persons can submit their applications for the new private car quotas for the Shenzhen Bay Port to the Public Security Bureau of Guangdong Province and Transport Department.

Arrangements for Cross-boundary Goods Vehicles Using the Shenzhen Bay Port

Cross-boundary freight companies can apply for additional crossing endorsement for their good vehicles to use the Shenzhen Bay Port following the established procedures.

Advice to Visitors

Roads leading to Shenzhen Bay Port will be closed about 30 minutes before the Port ceases operation. Visitors should pay attention to the operating hours of the Port to ensure that there is adequate time to complete the arrival / departure procedures.

To avoid the peak hours, visitors should plan their trips well in advance and check the latest traffic and public transport information through different channels (e.g. websites and enquiries hotlines).

The Shenzhen Bay Bridge may be closed during inclement weather and public transport services may cease operation. Visitors should pay attention to the latest traffic information.
