TRAFFIC ADVICE
Extension of Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements on Kung Um Road and Kiu Hing Road, Yuen Long
Members of the public are advised that, to facilitate the infrastructure works for Yuen Long South First Phase Development, the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will continue to be implemented from 6.00 a.m. on 6 October 2024 to 6.00 a.m. on 6 October 2025.
1. Road Closure
- The section of Kung Um Road northbound from its junction with the unnamed access road near Lung Tin Sewage Pumping Station to a point about 100 metres south of the same junction will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic;
- The section of Kung Um Road southbound from a point about 120 metres south of its junction with Shap Pat Heung Road to a point about 430 metres south of the same junction will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic;
- The section of Kiu Hing Road northbound from a point about 65 metres north of its junction with the unnamed access road near Tin Liu Tsuen to a point about 390 metres north of the same junction will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic;
- The section of Kiu Hing Road southbound from a point about 300 metres south of its junction with Shap Pat Heung Road to a point about 390 metres south of the same junction will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic; and
- The vehicular bridge near La Grove and Park Signature will be permanently closed.
- All vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from making right turn movement from Lam Hi Road eastbound onto Kung Um Road southbound; and
- All vehicles exceeding 8 metres in length will be temporarily prohibited from making right turn movement from Kiu Hing Road southbound onto Kung Um Road northbound via the temporary vehicular bridge under Yuen Long Highway.
- The section of Kiu Hing Road from a point about 100 metres south of its junction with Shap Pat Heung Road to a point about 310 metres south of the same junction will be temporarily converted from one-lane two-way traffic into one-lane southbound traffic.
- Affected vehicles on Kung Um Road northbound will be diverted via the temporary road;
- Affected vehicles on Lam Hi Road eastbound heading for Kung Um Road southbound will be diverted via Kung Um Road northbound, Shap Pat Heung Road eastbound, Kiu Hing Road southbound, temporary road southbound and temporary vehicular bridge westbound near Tin Liu Tsuen;
- Affected vehicles on Kung Um Road northbound heading to Kiu Hing Road southbound will be diverted via Shap Pat Heung Road eastbound;
- Affected vehicles on Kiu Hing Road southbound heading for Kung Um Road northbound, Park Signature or Lam Hi Road westbound will be diverted via the temporary vehicular bridge westbound under Yuen Long Highway and Kung Um Road northbound;
- Affected vehicles exceeding 8 metres in length on Kung Um Road northbound near Lam Hi Road heading for Kung Um Road southbound will be diverted via the vehicular bridge near Ma Tin Pok eastbound, Kiu Hing Road southbound, temporary road southbound and temporary vehicular bridge near Tin Liu Tsuen westbound; and
- Affected vehicles exceeding 8 metres in length on Kiu Hing Road southbound heading for Kung Um Road southbound will be diverted via temporary road southbound and temporary vehicular bridge westbound near Tin Liu Tsuen.
The following temporary transport arrangements will be implemented for N.T. GMB Route No. 39 (Kung Um – Yuen Long (Fung Cheung Road)), 39 Special Service (Kung Um – Yuen Long Station) and 39A (Kung Um Road (near Muk Kiu Tau) – Yuen Long (Kau Yuk Road) (Circular)):
