Traffic and Public Transport Arrangements

for the Opening of the new Tuen Mun Station Public Transport Interchange (Covered)

 

Notice is hereby given that from 14 March 2010 (Sunday), the new Tuen Mun Station Public Transport Interchange (Covered) near Pui To Road will be opened.  At the same time, the existing open-air Tuen Mun Station Public Transport Interchange will be closed. The following traffic and public transport arrangements will be implemented:

 

 

I.  Traffic Arrangements

 

(a)

The section of Yan Ching Street between Ho Pong Street and Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road will be closed;

(b)

The section of Ho Pong Street northbound between Pui To Road and the vehicle entrance of SKH St. Simon’s Lui Ming Choi Secondary School will be opened to all general vehicles. The following arrangements will be implemented:

 

(i)

Motorists are advised to travel via the above-mentioned section of Ho Pong Street northbound to access the general loading/ unloading area in the northern section of the new Tuen Mun Station Public Transport Interchange (Covered); and

 

(ii)

Motorists on Ho Pong Street northbound heading for Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road are advised to travel via Tsing Yin Street northbound.

II.  Public Transport Arrangements

 

(a)

The bus stops and green-minibus (GMB) stops in the existing open-air Tuen Mun Station Public Transport Interchange (except the stops of MTR bus routes 506, K51 and K58) of KMB routes 59S, 61X, 66, 66M, 263, 961, Long Win Bus routes A33, R33, MTR bus routes K52, K53 and GMB routes 40, 43, 43A, 43B, 43C, 44A, 44B, 45 will be relocated to the new Tuen Mun Station Public Transport Interchange (Covered);

(b)

There will be an NT Taxi stand, an urban taxi stand and a general loading/ unloading area in the new Tuen Mun Station Public Transport Interchange (Covered) for the members of public;

(c)

The bus stops of MTR bus route 506 (to Siu Lun) and K58 (to Castle Peak Bay) will be relocated from the existing open-air Tuen Mun Station Public Transport Interchange to Pui To Road eastbound (near Tuen Mun Station Exit C1);

(d)

The bus stop of MTR bus route K51 (to Fu Tai) will be relocated from the existing open-air Tuen Mun Station Public Transport Interchange to Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road northbound (opposite to Castle Peak Catholic Primary School);

(e)

The GMB stops of GMB routes 42 (to Tuen Mun town centre), 49S (Overnight service)(to Wan Chai) and 610S (Overnight service)(to Tsim Sha Tsui) will be relocated from Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road southbound (near Yan Ching Street) to the new Tuen Mun Station Public Transport Interchange (Covered); and

(f)

The bus stops on Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road southbound (near Yan Ching Street/ Tak Ching Circuit) of KMB routes 59S (to Mong Kok), 61X (to Kowloon City), 66 (both bounds), 66M (both bounds), 263 (to Sha Tin), 961 (both bounds), Long Win Bus routes A33 (to Airport), R33 (to Disneyland) and MTR bus routes 506 (to Siu Lun), K52 (to Lung Kwun Tan), K53 (to So Kwun Wat), K58 (to Castle Peak Bay) will be cancelled.  Passengers are advised to take the above bus services at the new Tuen Mun Station Public Transport Interchange (Covered) or Pui To Road eastbound (near Tuen Mun Station Exit C1).

 

 

Appropriate traffic signs will be erected to guide motorists.  The bus companies and the GMB operators will put up notices at the stops concerned and inside vehicle compartments to advise passengers of the concerned public transport arrangements.
