Special traffic and transport arrangements in the vicinity of Victoria Park for Lunar New Year's Eve
The Transport Department (TD) today (February 7) reminded the public that a series of special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in the vicinity of the Lunar New Year Fair in Victoria Park on Lunar New Year's Eve (February 9).
The arrangements include:
1. Partial road closure in the vicinity of the Lunar New Year Fair in Victoria Park and implementation of traffic diversions.
2. Public transport services
Most public transport services including the MTR and trams will provide overnight or extended services. To meet passenger needs, bus companies will operate 18 special bus route services, extend the services of four bus routes, strengthen the services of 37 bus routes and divert 37 bus routes in connection with the special traffic arrangements. Green minibus operators will extend the services of four routes and divert 10 routes in connection with the special traffic arrangements.
3. Suspension of some parking spaces.
4. Vehicle access to all car parks and hotels within the closed roads will be prohibited, and vehicles parked in these car parks and hotels will not be permitted to leave, until the roads are re-opened.
People who plan to go to the affected areas are advised to use public transport as far as possible. In case of traffic obstruction, motorists are urged to exercise tolerance and patience, and take heed of instructions from the Police in the affected areas. The public are advised to stay alert to the latest traffic news on radio and television.
