Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements in Wong Tai Sin on Sunday

     The Transport Department (TD) today (January 20) reminded the public that temporary traffic and transport arrangements would be implemented from 12.30am to 5.30am in Wong Tai Sin on Sunday (January 23) to facilitate footbridge construction works.

     The arrangements mainly include:

* The section of Lung Cheung Road eastbound between Fung Mo Street and Po Kong Village Road will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic. Affected vehicles will be diverted via Ma Chai Hang Road roundabout, Ma Chai Hang Road eastbound, Wong Tai Sin Road eastbound, Shatin Pass Road southbound, Fung Tak Road eastbound, Po Kong Village Road southbound and Tai Hom Road eastbound.

* The section of Lung Cheung Road westbound between Po Kong Village Road and Ching Tak Street will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic.  Affected vehicles will be diverted via Po Kong Village Road southbound, Choi Hung Road westbound, Shatin Pass Road northbound, Tung Tau Tsuen Road westbound and Ching Tak Street northbound or via Hammer Hill Road southbound, Choi Hung Road roundabout, Choi Hung Road westbound, Shatin Pass Road northbound, Tung Tau Tsuen Road westbound and Ching Tak Street northbound.

* During the period of road closures, Kowloon Motor Bus (KMB) Routes 2F, 3C, 11C, 38, 42C, 61X, 62X, 70X, 74A, 75X, 80, 84M, 85C, 89, 89B, 211, 258D, 258P, 259D, 268C, 269C, Citybus (CTB) Routes E22, E22A, N29 and Green Minibus (GMB) Route 501S operating on Lung Cheung Road eastbound will be diverted. KMB Routes 2F, 3C, 38, 42C, 61X, 62X, 70X, 74A, 75X, 80, 84M, 85C, 89, 89B, 258D, 259D, 268C, 269C, Cross Harbour Route 113, CTB Routes E22, E22A, N29 and GMB Route 501S operating on Lung Cheung Road westbound will also be diverted. Temporary arrangements for bus and GMB stops along the affected road sections will be made.

     In case of traffic congestion, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience, and follow police instructions. People planning to go to the affected areas are advised to make use of public transport services as far as possible.

     The TD and the Police will closely monitor the traffic situation and implement appropriate measures as necessary. Motorists and the public are advised to be alert to the latest traffic news broadcasts via radio and television channels.
