Vehicle Parking

As at end 2012, there were about 32,700 designated on-street parking spaces in the territory, with parking meters provided at about 18,000 parking spaces. All the parking meters were operated with the Octopus card.

The TD operated 14 multi-storey car parks providing a total of about 6,800 parking spaces for private cars / vans and about 900 parking spaces for motorcycles. In addition, the TD operated Sheung Shui Park-and-Ride Car Park (Open Air), which has a capacity of some 200 parking spaces.

The above parking services were managed by three contractors selected through public tenders.
