Vehicle Parking
As at end 2011, there were about 31,900 designated on-street parking spaces in the territory, with parking meters provided at about 18,000 parking spaces. All the parking meters were operated with the Octopus card.
The TD operated 14 multi-storey car parks providing a total of about 7,600 parking spaces. In addition, the TD operated Sheung Shui Park-and-Ride Car Park (Open Air) and Lantau Link View Point Car Park (Open Air)*, which had a capacity of some 200 and 100 parking spaces respectively.
The above parking services were managed by three contractors selected through public tenders.
* The Lantau Link View Point Car Park (Open Air) was closed since 1 May 2011.
