ROAD TRAFFIC (TRAFFIC CONTROL) REGULATIONS (CHAPTER 374G)
Extension of Temporary Restricted Zones in Yau Ma Tei


       In exercise of the powers vested in me under regulation 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations, Chapter 374G, I hereby direct that with effect from 1 October 2024 to 31 December 2024, the following road sections will continue to be temporarily designated as restricted zones 24 hours daily:-


(a)    the section of Reclamation Street between Kansu Street and Battery Street;

(b)    the southern kerbside lane of Kansu Street from its junction with Shanghai Street to a point about 80 metres west of the same junction;

(c)    the eastern kerbside lane of Battery street from its junction with Kansu Street to a point about 50 metres south of the same junction (except metered parking spaces);

(d)    the western kerbside lane of Battery Street from its junction with Kansu Street to a point about 20 meters south of the same junction (except metered parking spaces);

(e)    the eastern kerbside lane of Ching Ping Street from its junction with Public Square Street to a point about 40 meters north of the same junction;

(f)    the western kerbside lane of Ching Ping Street from its junction with Public Square Street to a point about 10 meters north of the same junction;

(g)    the northern kerbside lane of Public Square Street from its junction with Ching Ping Street to a point about 50 meters east of the same junction;

(h)    the southern kerbside lane of Public Square Street from its junction with Ching Ping Street to a point about 20 meters east of the same junction;

(i)    the eastern kerbside lane of Ferry Street from a point about 25 metres south of its junction with Kansu Street to a point about 45 meters south of the same junction;

(j)    the section of Saigon Street between Ferry Street and Canton Road;

(k)    the section of Wai Ching Street from its junction with Saigon Street to a point about 20 metres south of the same junction;

(l)    the eastern kerbside lane of Battery Street from its junction with Saigon Street to a point about 20 metres north of the same junction; and

(m)    the western kerbside lane of Battery Street from its junction with Saigon Street to a point about 10 metres north of the same junction.


       Within the restricted zones, drivers of all motor vehicles, except franchised buses and those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport, will be prohibited from:


(a)    picking up or setting down passengers; or

(b)    loading or unloading goods.


       The extent of the restricted zone have been indicated by appropriate traffic signs and road markings.


       At the same time, the existing restricted zone on the above road section will continue to be temporarily rescinded.
