Transport Department Notice
Temporary Traffic Arrangements on Tai Po Road – Sha Tin and Fo Tan Road, Sha Tin
Notice is hereby given that in order to facilitate road works, the following temporary traffic arrangements will be implemented from 1.00 am to 6.00 am on 10 March 2024:
A. Road Closures
The following roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic:
- The section of Tai Po Road – Sha Tin southbound between Racecourse Villa and Sha Tin Market; and
- The slip road leading from Fo Tan Road to Tai Po Road – Sha Tin southbound.
B. Lane Closures
The following traffic lanes will be closed to all vehicular traffic:
- The leftmost lane of Fo Tan Road northbound from a point about 120 meters south of its junction with Tai Po Road – Sha Tin to its junction with Tai Po Road – Sha Tin;
- The rightmost lane of Fo Tan Road eastbound from a point about 100 meters north of its junction with Lok King Street to its junction with Lok King Street; and
- The two rightmost lanes of Fo Tan Road eastbound from its junction with Lok King Street to its junction with Tai Po Road – Sha Tin.
C. Banning of Turning Movements
The following turning movements will be prohibited:
- Turning right from Fo Tan Road eastbound onto Tai Po Road – Sha Tin southbound; and
- Turning left from Fo Tan Road westbound onto Tai Po Road – Sha Tin southbound.
D. Traffic Diversions
- Affected vehicles on Tai Po Road – Sha Tin southbound heading to Shing Mun Tunnel Road and Tsing Sha Highways will be diverted via Sha Tin Road eastbound, Yuen Wo Road southbound and Sha Tin Rural Committee Road westbound; and
- Affected vehicles on Fo Tan Road and Yuen Wo Road northbound heading for Tai Po Road – Sha Tin southbound will be diverted via Yuen Wo Road southbound and Sha Tin Rural Committee Road westbound.
E. Public Transport Arrangements
- LWB Route Nos. N42A (Tung Chung Station bound) and NA47 (Hong Kong Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (Hong Kong Port) Public Transport Interchange bound) will be diverted via Sha Tin Road eastbound, Yuen Wo Road southbound and Sha Tin Rural Committee Road westbound before resuming to their original routeings; and
- New Territories taxis in Sha Tin, Ma On Shan and Tai Po heading for Tsuen Wan will be diverted via Tolo Highway northbound, Lam Kam Road Interhcange, Lam Kam Road southbound and Route Twisk southbound.
Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists. Public transport operators will display notices to advise passengers of the above arrangements.
