Members of the public are advised that in line with the Government's policy objective of adopting wider use of technology in the provision of public services, the Transport Department ("TD") has developed an online application system for Lantau Closed Road Permit and the system will be launched on 30 September 2023.

       Applicants may complete the application entirely online via the GovHK website (https://www.gov.hk/en/residents/transport/roadandtraffic/oslancrp.htm). Applicants would be notified of the application result online through the system and should collect the Lantau Closed Road Permit at Hong Kong Licensing Office in person. In addition, the online application system also enables applicants to track the application status and make payment for approved applications.

       Upon receipt of the application, the TD will normally complete processing an application or require the applicant to provide additional information within 15 working days. Applicants who plan to apply for Lantau Closed Road Permits are advised to allow sufficient time for the applications to be processed.
