Special traffic and transport arrangements at Mong Kok Flower Market during Lunar New Year

The Transport Department today (February 5) reminded people about the special traffic and transport arrangements implemented at Mong Kok Flower Market during the Lunar New Year:

1. Temporary Road Closures

* Flower Market Road, Yuen Ngai Street, Yuen Po Street and Prince Edward Road West Service Road between Sai Yee Street and Embankment Road have been closed since noon on February 1 until 8am on Thursday (February 7).

* Subject to the prevailing traffic situation and the decision of Police at the scene, the following sections of roads will be closed temporarily from noon on February 1 to 8am on Thursday (February 7):
- Sai Yee Street between Prince Edward Road West and
  Boundary Street;
- Fa Yuen Street between Prince Edward Road West and
  Boundary Street;
- Playing Field Road between Tung Choi Street and
  Sai Yee Street; and
- Prince Edward Road West Service Road between
  Prince Edward Road West and Sai Yee Street.

2. Temporary Traffic Diversion

* During the road closure on Sai Yee Street,
  all traffic will be diverted to
  Prince Edward Road West westbound;
* During the road closure on Fa Yuen Street,
  all traffic will be diverted to
  Boundary Street eastbound; and
* During the road closure on Playing Field Road,
  all traffic will be diverted to either
  Tung Choi Street northbound or Playing Field Road
  westbound.

3. Temporary Suspension of Taxi Stand
    The taxi stand at Fa Yuen Street between Prince Edward Road West Service Lane and Playing Field Road will be suspended from 8am on February 6 until 8am on February 7.

4. Temporary Suspension of Parking Spaces
* The meter parking spaces and parking spaces for drivers with disabilities at the following road sections have been suspended since 8am on February 1 until 8am on February 7:
(a) the section of Playing Field Road between
    Fa Yuen Street and Sai Yee Street;
(b) the section of Playing Field Road between
    Tung Choi Street and Fa Yuen Street;
(c) the parking meters 6058A&B at Tung Choi Street
    near Prince Edward Road West;
(d) the section of Fa Yuen Street between
    Boundary Street and Prince Edward Road West
    Service Lane;
(e) the parking space for drivers with disabilities
    at Playing Field Road between Fa Yuen Street and
    Tung Choi Street; and
(f) the parking space for drivers with disabilities
    at Fa Yuen Street near Boundary Street.

* The motorcycle parking spaces at the following locations have been suspended since 8am on February 1 until 8am on February 7:
(a) the section of Playing Field Road between
    Tung Choi Street and Fa Yuen Street; and
(b) the Prince Edward Road West Flyover between
    Tung Choi Street and Sai Yee Street.
