To continuously improve roadside air quality, the Government has launched an incentive-cum-regulatory programme to phase out some 40,000 Euro IV diesel commercial vehicles (DCVs). Eligible registered owners of Euro IV DCVs can apply for ex-gratia payment from 19 October 2020 onwards.

The Environmental Protection Department has announced the extension of deadlines for ex-gratia payment application for phasing out Euro IV DCVs first registered in 2007 and 2008 for one year to 31 December 2023 and 31 December 2024, respectively. If the concerned vehicle owners intend to apply for the ex-gratia payment, please check and understand details of the ex-gratia payment scheme and submit the application on or before the above deadlines.

Starting from 20 November 2023, applicants should use the latest version of the application form (TD605B(11/2023)) when submitting applications for the ex-gratia payment. Applications submitted using the old versions of forms after the aforementioned date will not be processed and the applicants will be required to resubmit their applications using the new form.
