Frequency Adjustment of HK Island Green Minibus (GMB) Route Nos. 8 and 8X

(Baguio Villa (Lower) – Central (Exchange Square))

Members of the public are advised that the frequencies of Hong Kong Island Green Minibus (GMB) Route Nos. 8 and 8X will be changed with effect from 25 December 2016 (Sunday), and new GMB-GMB interchange concessions will be offered.  Details are:

 

GMB Route No. 8

The timetable of Route No. 8 will be changed to 3 one-way departures from Baguio Villa (Lower) to Central (Exchange Square) at 7.40am, 8.20am and 8.40am from Mondays to Fridays (except Public Holidays).

 

GMB Route No. 8X

The first departures of Route No. 8X for journeys from Baguio Villa (Lower) and Central (Exchange Square) will be advanced to 6.30am, while the time of the last departure will remain unchanged.  The basic whole day frequencies will be strengthened from 10-20 minutes to 10-15 minutes, and the frequency during the evening peak period will also be strengthened to 10 minutes.

 

Interchange Concessions

The GMB operator will offer interchange concessions between Route No. 8X and Route Nos. 10/31.  A fare discount of $8.1 would be offered to passengers interchanging from Route No. 8X (Central bound) to Route No. 10/31 (Causeway Bay bound) at the stop of HKU Station, and free interchange would also be offered to passengers interchanging from Route No. 10/31 (Cyberport/Tin Wan bound) to Route No. 8X (Baguio Villa bound) at the stop of HKU Station.

 

Notices will be displayed at the GMB stops and inside vehicles by the operator to advise passengers of the above service adjustment.
