ROAD TRAFFIC (TRAFFIC CONTROL) REGULATIONS (CHAPTER 374)

PROHIBITED ZONES IN MA WAN, TSUEN WAN

          In exercise of the powers vested in me under regulation 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 12.01 am on 14 December 2012, all roads in Ma Wan will be designated prohibited zones 24 hours daily.

  Drivers of all motor vehicles will be prohibited from driving vehicles into the prohibited zones 24 hours daily except:－

(a) goods vehicles from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm daily;

(b) urban taxis for access to/from Ma Wan Road and the roundabout between Ma Wan Road and Pak Lam Road 24 hours daily;

(c) buses from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm daily for access to/from Ma Wan Road, the roundabout between Ma Wan Road and Pak Lam Road, Pak Lam Road south of Fong Yuen Road, Fong Yuen Road, Pak Lai Road and Pak Yan Road; and

(d) those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport. 

The extent of the prohibited zones will be indicated by appropriate traffic signs.

        At the same time, the existing prohibited zones in Ma Wan, Tsuen Wan as gazetted in G.N. 8432 of 2011 will be rescinded.
