Traffic and Transport Arrangements in Ma Wan

        With effect from 14 December 2012, the "Ma Wan - Tsuen Wan" ferry service will cease operation.  The arrangements of the last departures of the above ferry route on the last operating day (i.e. 13 December 2012) will be as follows:

(i)               depart from Ma Wan at 11.35 p.m. and

(ii)             depart from Tsuen Wan at 11.52 p.m.

Upon cessation of the above ferry service, passengers may take residents' service route NR331 for traveling between Ma Wan and Tsuen Wan (Sau Lau Kok Road).  The residents' service will be strengthened to cater for passenger demand.

        Passengers who need to continue their journeys to Tsuen Wan West Station may take the following franchised bus or green minibus (GMB) routes at their en-route stops on Sai Lau Kok Road opposite to Nam Fung Centre, Tsuen Wan:

        The ferry operator will display notices at Park Island Pier and Tsuen Wan Public Pier to inform affected passengers.  The bus and GMB operators of the above-mentioned routes will closely monitor the passenger demand and strengthen their services when necessary.

        Effective from the same day, urban taxis will be allowed to gain access to Ma Wan 24 hours daily; while coaches will also be allowed to gain access to Ma Wan without permit between 10.00 a.m. and 4.00 p.m. daily.  Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to inform motorists of the arrangements.
